Treat your Pets this Howl-iday!
![]()
The holidays aren’t just for humans. Pets get excited too!
And yes the economy is in a slump but let’s not let our faithful companions feel the pinch. Forgetting Fido at the Holidays is unacceptable when there are so many low cost, high quality treats and toys to stuff their stocking with!
And if you’re baking during the holidays this year, why not bake up a few batches of yummy treats for you and your friends pooches? You can even package them for pennies in a brown paper lunch bag and decorate with festive stamps, stickers or holiday ribbon!
Try this delish recipe for tail wagging treats:
Holiday Peanut Butter Bites Recipe
Ingredients
3 cups of all purpose flour
1 and ½ cups of whole wheat flour
1 and ½ teaspoons of molasses
3 tablespoons of peanut butter, unsalted
3 tablespoons of canola oil
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a bowl mix the all purpose flour and the whole wheat flour together and set it on the side. In a separate large bowl stir the molasses, peanut butter and oil together. Then add the flours mixture into the molasses mixture and whisk it until it is smooth.
Use your hand to break the dough into small ball size pieces and roll each one into log shapes around ½ inch in diameter. Then cut the longs into 1/8 of inch thick discs. Place the discs over two ungreased baking sheets and put them in the oven. Bake them for approximately 30 minutes or until they become golden brown.
Once done allow them to cool completely before serving out.
(These look great with some holiday sprinkles on top!)
